TREATMENTS
MOXIBUSTION
This is the use of the dried herb, mugwort, to warm an area on the skin and move or warm the Qi where there is congestion or pain or cold. A small roll or cone of the herb is placed on the skin or the end of the needle that has been inserted into the skin, lit and allowed to smoulder slowly and then removed safely. This sends heat into the needle. As a treatment it can help enormously with lumbar pain. A moxa stick is sometimes used around the area instead to disperse heat.

CUPPING
This is an ancient technique found in many cultures that utilizes vacuum suction with glass cups or silicon cups to move localised congestion from injury or illness.
A vacuum is created within the cup using a lighted taper and the cup is placed upon the skin. The skin raises within the cup and creates suction. It is commonly used on the back for colds and for muscular issues, back ache and even injury. It is completely safe and causes a pleasant relaxing sensation, and can sometimes leave some superficial painless bruising.

DETOXIFICATION & AURICULAR ACUPUNCTURE
Using ear acupuncture can help with the process of detoxification, and can be very effective in the support of those receiving treatment or post treatment for cancer. It can also help PTSD anxiety and insomnia. Very short needles are inserted into specific points on the ear and left in for 30-40 minutes while the patient relaxes.

ELECTROACUPUNCTURE
This technique uses small clips on the end of the acupuncture needle to send an electric current down the needle, effectively giving a vigorous massage.
The current stimulates muscles, nerves and circulation, and promotes healing in traumtised tissue and promotes an anti-inflammatory response. Acute and chronic pain and injuries can benefit from this

DIETARY ADVICE
In conjunction with acupuncture treatment small changes in the diet and lifestyle can assist imbalances within the body and facilitate wellbeing. All foods have an energetic property, and adding or reducing the intake of certain foods may boost the positive effects of the needles.
