Rachel Stocker Lic Ac, MBAcC, BA Hons
I studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture for three years to degree level at The College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, qualifying in 2002. I subsequently practiced alongside GPs, osteopaths and homeopaths in Wiltshire and North Yorkshire for eight years then practiced overseas for two years, before returning to practice in the UK in 2013.
I have seen improvement in a variety of individuals who have had treatment for problems as diverse as lower back pain, chronic cystitis, tennis elbow, migraines and depression, peri and menopause, and hayfever.
I also use cupping, moxibustion and am fully qualified with NADA-UK as an acupuncture detoxification specialist. Ear acupuncture is used in this instance for detoxification, addiction and stress or trauma, and can also be helpful for anxiety and insomnia. I took part in an acupuncture research project with Anxiety UK to assertain whether acupuncture helped with anxiety and a significant reduction of symptoms was found in most patients.
I also took a course in the use of acupuncture for the treatment of sports injuries and often use electro acupuncture for this type of treatment.
I am registered with The British Acupuncture Council and am fully insured and have to complete 30 hours of CPD annually and be first aid qualified.
